The Body Shop, an international producer and retailer of cosmetics, skin care and hair products based in the U.K., has launched three CBD skincare products for retail sales in the United States and the U.K.

The collection launched on Sep. 22 in the U.K. and includes a face oil, a moisturizer and a cleansing mask.

In Britain, the products can be purchased online and in stores, priced at 17-25 pounds ($22-32). Only the face oil and cleansing mask are available for purchase in the U.S., both online and in select states.

The Body Shop said on its U.S. website that, “due to individual state restriction,” CBD is not available for sale in:

  • Alaska.
  • Arizona.
  • Delaware.
  • Hawaii.
  • Idaho.
  • Louisiana.
  • Mississippi.
  • Ohio.
  • Pennsylvania.

All three products contain an unspecifed amount of “natural origin CBD and hemp seed oil,” though the source of the CBD remains unclear. Cannabidiol is listed after “parfum/fragrance” on each label’s list of ingredients.

The Body Shop has not responded to Hemp Industry Daily‘s requests for comment.

The company also carries a separate line of hempseed oil bath and skincare products.

L’Oréal sold The Body Shop to Brazilian cosmetics maker Natura Cosméticos in 2017.
