Supporters of hemp cultivation in Guyana say studies show planting 250,000 acres could create 40,000 to 50,000 jobs.

In Panama, lawmakers and government officials formed the committee to study industrial hemp during discussion about a pending bill to allow hemp cultivation. About 1.4 million acres of land in Panama are farmland.
