A new hemp extract made by ECS Brands has promoted weight loss in all of its test subjects, according to the results of a recent study.
In a study supported by the National Institute of Health, ECS Brands tested human subjects in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled environment with a product called Nitro-V™ Whole-Plant Hemp–Organic Varin Oil, or “Nitro-V™” for short.
Countless people in the U.S. are considered overweight or obese, and there are many of those who seek healthy ways to lose weight. According to founder and CEO of ECS Brands, Arthur Jaffee, Nitro-V™ could be the next big thing in weight loss technology.
“So many people are grappling with their weight being higher than they would like,” said Jaffee. “They try to make healthy changes but may not see the results they want. Nitro-V™ is a quantum leap forward in a space where products aimed at appetite control are frequently not backed by science or considered safe. It is a fast and effective supplement that can help manage cravings and jump-start weight loss.”
Hemp as a Weight-Loss Solution
Nitro-V™ is defined as a “rare” hemp extract that, according to a press release, allowed the participants of the aforementioned study to drop their BMI by three points. The product (or a placebo depending on the group) was administered one to two times a day. Results showed that some individuals lost up to 22 pounds over the course of 90 days, without any changes to diet or exercise, according to a company press release. Overall, weight loss was experienced in some fashion in “100 out of 100 test subjects.”
ECS Brands revealed that out of all the study participants, 61 percent experienced a reduction in hunger, 40 percent had less food cravings and 52 percent found that their anxiety decreased. In comparison, only 64 percent of participants in the placebo group said that they lost weight, stayed the same weight and saw no change in BMI.
Nitro-V™ utilizes full-spectrum hemp oil with natural THCV. According to a press release, the company claims that it is the “only industrial hemp-derived, proven safe source for high THCV; all other sources are derived from federally illegal marijuana or are synthetically engineered with no proof of safety.”
Using cannabis and hemp for weight loss is a common desire these days. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approximately 42.5 percent of adults over 20 are considered obese, and 73.6 percent of adults are considered to be overweight and obese.
However, Jaffee believes that a product like Nitro-V™ could be the missing link people are looking for to help them successfully lose weight. “Those working to reduce their weight and enhance their overall health are looking for any advantage they can find to help them stick to their exercise and nutrition regimens,” he said. “With the results of these studies, we think that Nitro-V™ could be the tool to help many unlock their weight-loss potential and feel better.”
This isn’t the first time that THCV has been used to help with weight loss, as well as other ailments. Studies in the past with various companies have found its properties to be highly effective in assisting with decreasing the munchies thanks to its high potency.
THCV is also known to benefit those who suffer from diabetes. According to Diabetes.co.uk, THCV helped to decrease blood glucose levels, and increased insulin production for those who have Type 2 diabetes. THCV can also assist with treating stress and anxiety, helps those suffering from Parkinson’s disease and can be used to treat seizures too. The American Journal of Botany found that after analyzing 157 cannabis strains, high levels of THCV was most commonly found in strains with origins in Southern African or Afghanistan.
