California coffee company begins work on Nicaraguan hemp grow facility

A California coffee company says it has broken ground on a project to build a hemp grow and processing facility in Nicaragua as part of an agreement with a cooperative there.
Youngevity International of Chula Vista announced the groundbreaking Tuesday, saying two of its U.S. subsidiaries, including one that sells CBD-infused coffee, and their Nicaraguan partners were on the first phase of their project. That will include running electricity to power the enterprise.
Youngevity sells coffee to cruise lines and grocery stores.
CLR Roasters LLC and Khrysos Industries, Inc., two Youngevity International subsidiaries entered an agreement April 21 with H&H Coffee Group Export Corp and the Nica Hemp Cooperative, Inc.
Khrysos makes CBD-infused coffees in Florida.
The agreement called for Youngevity’s subsidiaries to acquire the 2,200-acre Chaguitillo Farms in Sebaco-Matagalpa, Nicaragua. Electricity will be delivered to the property and 45,000 square feet of buildings for extraction, drying, storage, and greenhouse space.
