Ceylon Currently Powers Cannabis Tech Innovators Simplifya, New Frontier Data, and Leafwire
DENVER, COLO.—June 4, 2019— Colorado-based software development company Ceylon Solutions is proud to announce that cannabis industry veterans and investors Alain Bankier and Tahira Rehmatullah have joined the company’s leadership team. Mr. Bankier and Ms. Rehmatullah will help lead Ceylon Solutions’ shift in service focus from small business and Fortune 1000 companies to developing digital products for the cannabis industry. This redirection of Ceylon Solution’s target customers provides the cannabis community with expertly crafted digital development technology.
Ceylon Solutions takes a unique approach to software development, providing a dedicated, personalized team to each partner client. The company seeks to become a true extension of each client’s team, powering all their technology needs behind the scenes. Using that approach, Ceylon Solutions has already built game-changing software applications for cannabis technology leaders Simplifya, New Frontier Data, and Leafwire.
Mr. Bankier joins Ceylon Solutions as managing partner. He brings a long history of experience as an active early stage investor and entrepreneur in both the cannabis and technology industries, having helped advise and lead a variety of companies through major milestones, exits, and liquidity events. Mr. Bankier is also the co-founder of the New York Angels, one of the leading early stage investment groups in the U.S. Until 2014, he was Co-President/CEO of The Manischewitz Company.
Ms. Rehmatullah joins the company as partner. In addition to her work with Ceylon Solutions, she serves in senior leadership roles for Hypur Ventures and MTech Acquisition Corp., each of which supports the growth and success of some of the most innovative companies in cannabis. Ms. Rehmatullah has been named one of the most powerful women in the cannabis industry by Fortune Magazine and Complex, and is dedicated to developing female and minority leadership in the industry.
“With Alain and Tahira joining the Ceylon Solutions leadership team, we are emphatically planting our flag in the cannabis space,” said Ceylon Solutions founder and chairman Marion Mariathasan. “You’d be hard-pressed to find two people with more experience, creativity, and dedication to fostering growth in this industry. Their contributions will be invaluable to our partner clients and to the success of our company.”
In addition to providing development services, the Ceylon Solutions team also engages its deep cannabis industry knowledge and network to help its partner clients succeed, from facilitating introductions and additional capital to providing other expertise as needed.
Ceylon Solutions’ development teams are based in Colombo, Sri Lanka — the South Asian island nation formerly known as Ceylon. However, although development staff are located internationally, Ceylon Solutions is a U.S.-based company with headquarters in Denver, Colorado, making legal contracts easily enforceable under United States law.
