Village Farms International, a Canadian company that’s adding U.S. hemp to its business producing greenhouse-grown tomatoes, bell peppers and cucumbers, has graduated to the Nasdaq exchange.
The company says it will leave the over-the-counter markets – where it trades as VFFIF – and list on the Nasdaq Capital Market as VFF. A date for the Nasdaq listing hasn’t been announced.
Village Farms also trades on Canada’s senior exchange, the Toronto Stock Exchange, under the symbol VFF.
The company announced plans in December to enter the U.S. hemp market, saying it will seek to convert a Texas greenhouse to hemp production.
The move would require a change in Texas law.
Village Farms has a market cap of $366 million (485 million Canadian dollars).
