Hemp products manufacturer Vertical Wellness Inc. has bought a candy-making company to expand its reach into the edibles market.
Vertical Wellness CEO Smoke Wallin said purchasing The Organic Candy Factory, based in California, is a “perfect segue” to expand into selling gummy-bear infused CBD products, Reuters reported Wednesday. The candy company currently doesn’t make cannabis-infused edibles.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
A Vertical Wellness spokesman says edibles are expected to become a key revenue driver for both companies.
Vertical Wellness is a Los-Angeles based CBD spinoff of the business’ multistate medical and recreational marijuana operations.
