Terrapin Care Station is trying a novel approach to encouraging people to register to vote — discounted weed.
“No matter where you land on the political spectrum, participation in our nation’s democratic process is more important than ever,” Terrapin Care Station founder and owner Chris Woods stated in a news release. “Passion is already strong this election cycle, but we wanted to further encourage participation in our elections.”
Terrapin Care Station, which has two locations in Boulder, is offering a 10 percent discount to customers who provide proof at the time of sale that they are registered voters. Voters can check their registration at govotecolorado.com and take a screen shot to show staff at the store.
