BOULDER, Colo. — July 16, 2018 — PRESS RELEASE — BDS Analytics, a cannabis market intelligence and consumer research company, has announced that the company has added the Arizona market to its GreenEdge Retail Sales Tracking Platform. In addition to existing data from Colorado, California, Oregon and Washington, GreenEdge will now feature Arizona medical dispensary point-of-sales data dating back to January 2017.

GreenEdge provides clients access data on what is selling, when, where and for how much on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Companies can leverage real data to make strategic decisions that will advance the financial goals of their business and gain an understanding of the cannabis markets-–from what is selling in different states to pricing strategies, brand concentration, market segmentation, how trends flourish over time and more.

“We are thrilled to expand our data tracking efforts into Arizona, a state that saw the first three months of 2018 bring in $160 million in sales,” said Liz Stahura, president and co-founder of BDS Analytics. “With 130 medical dispensary licenses and 115 currently operational locations, we’re confident Arizona’s medical market will continue to grow and that our clients should be paying attention to the state’s cannabis industry.”

In 2010, Arizona legalized medical marijuana after previously failed attempts. In 2017 alone, Arizona’s cannabis industry directly created 6,779 full-time positions and 9,435 employment opportunities. According to The State of Legal Marijuana Markets, Sixth Edition report recently published by Arcview Market Research in partnership with BDS Analytics, by 2022, the estimated number of legal Arizona consumers is on track to reach 508,378, driving $1.19 billion in state revenue.

“In an industry where so much is still unknown due to prohibition, access to accurate market data is an absolute must for the cannabis industry to move forward effectively,” said Aaron Smith, executive director of the National Cannabis Industry Association. “NCIA members are investing in work that will ultimately end the failed policies of prohibition and allow our industry to reach its full potential. We are proud to work with BDS Analytics to provide our membership with this invaluable tool to help them gain a competitive advantage in Arizona and beyond.”

As part of an ongoing strategic partnership, all registered NCIA members will receive access to the newly released Arizona data along with their existing access to GreenEdge sales data from Colorado, California, Oregon and Washington.
