Sisolak presented a placard marking the day and declared it “MedMen Day” to a flank of reporters, employees and customers eager to enter the store Saturday morning. Company Co-founders Adam Bierman and Andrew Modlin were on hand to receive the placard.
“I see all these young women and men with the red MedMen t-shirts,” said Sisolak, who is running for governor in the November election. “These are well paying local jobs that this industry is creating in Nevada, and I commend MedMen for setting the bar.”
Others in attendance included Nevada Senator Aaron D. Ford, who’s running for state attorney general, Nevada State Assemblymember Jim Marchant and local community and business leaders.
MedMen Paradise, located at 4503 Paradise Road near popular landmarks such as the Hard Rock Hotel, the Thomas and Mack Center and McCarran International Airport, is the first MedMen location to feature multilingual translations on their signature touch-screen menus. The brand previously opened a retail location in Downtown Las Vegas and a third store is planned for next year.
Marking another milestone, MedMen Paradise is the first retail location to carry the Company’s new product line [statemade], manufactured at the Company’s state-of-the-art cannabis factory outside Reno, NV. [statemade] offeringsinclude vape pens, drops, cannabis flower, and pre-rolled joints. The products are designed with the modern cannabis consumer in mind and come in seven different effect categories like “max” for active lifestyles and “zzz” to support rest, for example. “Nevada is the shining light, the gold standard for our industry, so where better to launch [statemade] than here,” said Bierman, MedMen’s chief executive officer. “This store means a lot to us and combining the launch of [statemade] and the opening of our Paradise store made perfect sense.”
MedMen runs vertically integrated operations with 19 facilities in California, Nevada and New York, including 14 stores. It recently acquired a license to open 30 stores in Florida, and announced acquisitions in Arizona and Illinois.
