PRESS RELEASE

—Company recognized for innovation and industry impact —

Boulder, Colo. (December 18, 2019)Wana Brands’ reputation for fusing innovation, quality and corporate responsibility was further sealed at a gala awards ceremony during MJBizCon in Las Vegas on December 12.  Wana won top honors in the MJBizDaily Awards’ Infused Product category, and CEO Nancy Whiteman won the Industry Impact Award.

The honor is perhaps best demonstrated by the caliber of the co-finalists in each category. The finalists for top Infused Product also included Coda Signature, Dixie Brands, Plus Products and Sweet Grass Kitchen. Meanwhile, the finalists for the Industry Impact Award included cannabis luminaries Keith Stroup, the founder of NORML; Troy Dayton, CEO and Founder of The Arcview Group; Shanita Penny, president of the Minority Cannabis Association, Charlie Bachtell, CEO of Cresco Labs; Julie Berliner, CEO and founder of Sweet Grass Kitchen; AC Braddock, CEO of Eden Labs; John Lord, CEO of LivWell Enlightened Health; Nicolas Vita, CEO of Columbia Care; and Steve White, CEO of Harvest Health and Recreation.

“I was thrilled to even be included in such an impressive group of finalists but actually winning the two awards was an incredible surprise and honor,” Whiteman said.

The awards were handed out during the MJBizDaily Awards night at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. MJBizDaily chose finalists and winners based on “professional reputation, stake in the industry and success or growth within their segment or category.”

The awards are the latest in a growing line of honors for Wana Brands, the nation’s No. 1 producer of cannabis-infused edibles. In October, Whiteman was recognized in Entrepreneur’s first-ever list of Top Female Entrepreneurs, in November she was listed as a High Times Female 50, and in May, Whiteman ranked No. 3 on Cannabis Business Executive’s Most Powerful Women in Cannabis List. Recently, Wana Brands was listed as a Green Entrepreneur Top 100 Cannabis Business, a Denver Business Journal Fast 50 company and Inc. 5000 #1536. In April, Wana was named Cannabis Manufacturer of the Year at the fourth annual Colorado Manufacturer Awards. And last year, the company won the National Cannabis Industry Association’s Excellence in Innovation Award.

Since 2010, Wana Brands has expanded from Colorado into six additional states with more to follow. This year, it has extended its product line beyond its signature infused gummies to include an array of products including extended-release capsules, chewable tablets, disposable vapes, and rapid-onset tinctures. Along the way, the company has always paid special attention to quality and consistency while also reducing its carbon footprint as much as possible.
