The Minnesota House of Representatives gave final passage to a bicameral marijuana legalization deal. The Senate is expected to act on the legislation imminently, sending it to the desk of Gov. Tim Walz (D) to be signed into law.

Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) discussed his support for a marijuana banking bill at an Independent Community Bankers of America event. Separately, he said he backs a veterans medical cannabis research bill despite voting against allowing it to advance.

Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) tweeted, “It’s absurd that cannabis businesses don’t have access to banking. @RepBlumenauer and I are trying to change that!”

Former Mississippi Gov. Ronnie Musgrove (D) spoke about his involvement with a medical cannabis testing business.

Wisconsin’s Senate minority leader said that “because the Republicans in the Capitol building appear to be suffering from ‘reefer madness’ and misinformation, we’re not able to march forward” on marijuana reform.

The California Senate Appropriations Committee approved a bill to reform cannabis tax laws. Separately, Department of Tax and Fee Administration data shows that a significant percentage of marijuana businesses failed to make any tax payment by a May 1 deadline.

The Florida Financial Impact Estimating Conference will host events about a proposed marijuana legalization ballot initiative in June and July.

The Wyoming Supreme Court rejected a man’s appeal of his sentence for marijuana and meth possession charges after the substances were found in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

Michigan regulators are proposing changes to marijuana rules.
